One would think what new could there be, the less the friction, the less is the lower is the friction. But no. It turns if you look at this copy-book maxim at a new light that is when conducting the research use non traditional methods of evaluation. The postulates are being destroyed at ones eyes.
As the tests of different preparation showed used for engine repair and protection, performed in the VMPAUTO laboratory , the traditional methods are not always correct when conducting such research. Lets take for example GOST Р 51176-98 according to which the tests are being performed in the laboratory. According to this document the friction pair is a cast iron and steel disc. by this method you can only module the work of gearing machinery and that with a small percent of accuracy (10 - 15 %), as for the pair cast iron – steel it does not exist in the motor engine (pic. 1).
Cast iron and chrome ring work in the central piston group. Unfortunately even now the GOST method testing antiwear quantities of greases has not lost popularity and still conducted using 4 ball friction machine. And now try to recall friction unit in the car which is working just like 4 ball car. There are no units like that. So this is how it turns out that the results obtained in the laboratory are far from being true in real life. A particular example. At one of the factories when the level of engine overload was increased the resource of piston rings has dropped by 3 times from 10 000 to 3000 hours. Using the traditional standard method of modeling, when solving the problem the laboratory conditions, increased the resource by 3-4 times before , and during operation only by 15% as the method was too drawn away from reality.

Research and Manufacturing company VMPAUTO reviews the traditional methods of modeling of working systems. I would like to note that the company is not afraid of new often ahead of the time test methods (which was mentioned in the periodicals). It is the specialists of the company VMPAUTO first in Russia managed to modulate the Formula 1 engine using the method flow of energy. The method is being developed using the “Structural energy theory”, created by the world known Russian Academician, Mr Pogodaev L.I. Besides using this highly accurate modeling method the specialists managed to increase engine lifetime up to 12000 hours.
So after testing the products but in the conditions close to real life (credibility of energy flow method when modeling the work of central piston group 80%), the specialists of the company drew an unfavorable conclusion for the customers.It turns out in order to decrease friction the researches of certain additives stimulate big wear of parts. To begin with lets examine the anti friction qualities of the anti friction winner (fro ethical reasons we will not name the products by their brands). Classical remetalizer of the 3 rd generation and friction modifier (pic.2).

The friction winner for this parameter is above competition. In the second place is friction modifier Classical remetalizer does not influence the antifriction qualities of oil, as initially the product was not meant to reduce friction.
Now lets look at the total wear of parts when using the same preparations (pic. 3). With minimum load corresponding to 20-30% (temperature 80 C) of maximum capacity the friction winner showed decent result but as soon as the load becomes 100% (temperature 220240C) and the metal nearly right away stops resisting and extremely gross wear.

Its confirmed by microphotography. Look at the samples how chromed ring looks before work (Fig. 4). Visible longitudinal and transverse risks this work of lapping and grinding machines
Fig. 5 there is the same ring but after working in the presence of the friction winner. Fatigue cracks are visible because of that destruction of detail comes.
A much better with the situation with friction modifier and remetallizer. It should be noted that these figures last two opponents quite understandable. In friction modifiers apply PTFE which covers details of the engine, creates an enabling environment to reduce the wear (Fig. 6).
In remetallizer same slight decrease friction occurs through soft metals present in them. And wear of all details is compensated by the same metal particles (Fig. 7).
Actually make product for a maximum reduce friction and not so difficult. Enough just enter a composition, which will be soften metal friction and the friction winner is ready. In fact, it is OFL (oiling-freezing liquid Fig.8) has long been used in the processing industry in the machining of parts. In the framework of its work on the Rebinder effect: surface active substances contained in the OFL softens surface layer of cultivated material at that process of cutting metal becomes easier, friction reduces, and power inputs.
Craftiness “winners friction” on the OFL basis is that the increase does not wear rings subjectively feel, a driving force in the first … faster by reducing friction.
The catastrophic wear chromed rings not immediately found, and after imposition of large numbers of events. To determine the real cause of these situations is becoming impossible.
Such products can be used, in principle, but while running in a new or overhauled engine repaired for rapid burn-in pieces and parts.
Advertising companies such products come to military technology. But alas, that's good for a tank its death for “zhiguly”.

Military Technology in the modern battle for the rule aside from 5 to 60 minutes, depending on the type of weapons. For MIC rightly so, as the saying goes, all for the front, all for the victory, even for the sake of large parts of wear. So approach the issue of reducing tensions must be somewhat different, and its pleased that there are products in the market that is estimated to increase the resource and not for momentary reduction of friction. Such is the price she victory over friction. Well. Is it Victory?
