Additives to the motor oil: do we have to trust them?

Active remetallizer RESURS MOTO. Manufacturer - VMPAUTO, St.-Petersburg, Russia. Remetallizer’s dosage: one can per 1 l of the oil. Best one between tested, increases engine resource at the most.
 
Metal conditioner  FENOM. Manufacturer - company "Laboratory of the Tribo Technology", Moscow, Russia.    Metal conditioner’s dosage - 1 ml per 1 l of the blended fuel. Suitable for engine of the land and water moto technique. Takes first place as composition for running in of the new engines. It is little bit worse then RESURS MOTO as protection of the bearings and pump elements.
 

Four-ball tester. The steal small ball are packed in the pyramid and dipped into the lubricant. They rotate relatively to each other and gradually squeeze. The loading size is measured according to what the lubricant squeezes almost completely from the contact zone and the friction moment sharply increases.
 
...OR WATER?
On the market of the moto chemistry there are two products of the “anti friction” which improve characteristics of the motor oil "2Ò" (look photo). What do they promise? Resource of the new engine will grow greatly, the used engine will have second youth: compression will grow. It sounds impressive.
However oil manufacturers think about modification of their product very skeptic: it is unnecessary to add anything to already good product. And also it is dangerous – oil may become akin water. Who is right? We decided to appreciate the results of the additive use by the laboratory methods and on the “live” engine. We have bought chemistry, checked how do they work.

WITHOUT GOLD
We have done tests on the equipment approved by GOST 9490-75 and Ð 51176-98. First we tested how remetallizers can be mixed with the oil. We choosed "Spectral" MGD-14” as “laboratory animal”. We stired up the laboratory meterings of the principal index lubricants. We have not found signs of the obvious motor oil "damage" caused by remetallizers. We found some variations. However, according to the specialists, we can neglect them (look the table). But we think about the results more strict as we present customer interests as we count the deviations as the remetallizers’ negative.

However, we can compliment the products: the engine details go better with them.

It became clear when we checked the effectiveness of the products on the “friction machines” CMT-1 and ÈÈ 5018 (look illustrations of the tests results) – they imitate work of the weakest engine nodes: bearing and piston rings. "Loading" the “friction machine” by the pure oil we measure temperature, moment and friction coefficient between the details. Then we repeated the tests. This time we only mixed remetallizers with the oil proportion.

RESURS MOTO is remetallizant, manufacturers recommend it to the engines with the separate lubrication system.
